ABOUT JENNIFER BALTIMORE LAW

With a career spanning three decades and a strong DNA for change, Jennifer Baltimore is an accomplished and resilient leader, with deep industry experience at global entertainment, media and technology companies. Her signature strength is found in being both inspirational and relatable.

A business and legal affairs veteran, Jennifer has provided legal strategy for companies such as Universal Music Group, Verizon Hearst Media Partners (now Complex Networks), AOL, Fox Interactive Media, and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.  

Most recently as Senior Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs for Universal Music Group, Jennifer led legal strategy and deal making for UMG’s new business initiatives in film, television, live events, and for other bespoke, commercial deals designed to leverage Universal Music Group’s diverse artist roster and catalog in addition to handling recording, label, underlying rights, catalog acquisition and distribution deals for UMG’s core music business.  A sampling of Jennifer’s successfully brokered deals includes:

  • Documentary deals for Pavorotti, Ice Cold: The History of Bling, DMX: Don’t Try to Understand, and Selena y Los Dinos. 

  • Bespoke deal with Create Music that provided a new technological business solution for identifying talent and claiming unauthorized music use. 

  • Video License and Synchronization agreement with Paramount Global allowing the use of UMG’s music catalog in Paramount Global’s programming.

  • Strategic Marketing and Content Agreement with Lil Yachty, Richelieu Foods and UMG for Yachty’s Pizzeria: Deep Cuts custom pizza and branded content marketing initiative. 

  • Podcast deals for Audible Originals ALI IN ME and The Greatest Day: The Epic Story Behind Hip-Hop’s Most Iconic Photograph

  • AOL's public performance licenses with ASCAP, BMI and SESAC.

Jennifer was recognized in 2017 and 2018 in Billboard Magazine’s Women In Music: The Most Powerful Executives in the Industry, named to the Duke Law Alumni Board in 2019 and received Duke Law’s Charles S. Rhyne Award for Professional Achievement in 2020.
